I have multiple achievements across in my professional work in Development Programme Policy, Strategy, Fund Raising, Stakeholder Management, Resource Building, Delivery and Governance in the Educational sector. My experience and knowledge of applying these in emergency and non-emergency context will be a key asset to the position. The principal areas of focus have been Learning, Girls, Out-of-School Children including adolescents, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), and Education in Emergencies (EiE). I have the experience of policy advocacy, networking, partnerships and coordination with partners/donors to Education Sector. Representing UNICEF as the sector lead in education, I have facilitated the establishment of benchmarks, planning, monitoring, evaluations and joint reviews of the sector and programme performance. I have provided leadership to the joint UN coordination efforts for quality of education, UNDAF and Delivery as One and to the Education cluster. I have an extensive experience of Education in Emergencies and humanitarian efforts arising from natural disasters as well as conflict situation (Gujarat, India earthquake of 2001, Mozambique floods 2014) and in Afghanistan with the challenge of ensuring community based education for the thousands of children especially girls who had no access to schools due to insecurity. I bring not only advanced technical qualifications but also the proven ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders including national ministries, regional directorates, school directors, teachers' unions and school management committees, religious and traditional leaders, multilateral institutions, and private sector partners and donors.
I have managed teams and have demonstrated the ability to ensure that an enabling environment is provided for team members to optimize results. I am fluent in English, Portuguese and Hindi.
