Professional Experience:
Daina has worked in INGOs for more than 10 years on programme management in INGOs that include World Vision, Save the Children UK, UNESCO Maputo and SOS Children's Villages. Her experience is mainly on management of community child centered development programmes in support of the Most Vulnerable children and their families for empowerment.

Daina is a strategic plan facilitator and a trainer on Programme Cycle Management, child rights, gender mainstreaming and on HIV and AIDS Prevention packages. With all these competencies, Daina is invested with ability for effective team-building, coaching and mentor-ship for staff and strategic appreciation, insights and vision to lead multi-dimensional programmes from inception to implementation, including planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning. Currently Daina works as a Deputy National Director at SOS Children’s Villages Mozambique and her contract is ending by end of May 2016.

Daina has participated on high impact advocacy interventions for policy formulation for the protection of children and women. With Save the Children UK, Daina led representing Mozambique in a team of regional consultants on child migration in Southern Africa and the results of this research were published in a book entitled “Our Broken Dreams”, and the findings were considered as a base for fact based advocacy by Save the Children and the Civil Society Organizations that resulted on government approval of the Law against trafficking of people in Mozambique. In 2012, Daina led the gender assessment in the programmes in SOS Children’s Villages Mozambique and the findings of this research were used by the international gender committee as baseline information for the development of the Gender Policy in SOS Children’s Villages International.

Over the years, Daina has gained experience of donor contract management and donor servicing and partnership development. She gained experience on effective donor communication for retaining donors for long term fund raising and has participated in big donor forums. She has experience on results based management to programming and on sustainability approaches for high impact community development interventions. With the experience she has on program development, Daina is a proposal writer who has mobilized program funds in organizations where she worked.

At SOS Children’s Villages from 2012 to 2015, Daina led the strategic planning process for, where she facilitated the strategic plan workshops, led programme self-evaluations and supported the office on prioritization of programme interventions in light with SOS Children’s Village’s Global strategy. Daina researched for the Child Rights Situational Analysis and Fund Raising Status in Mozambique and presented the findings as key inputs to the organization’s strategic plan. She was the Strategic Plan Review Coordinator that led the strategic plan quarterly and annual reviews and provided visionary interpretation of the Managem
Education:
I am a holder of a Master of International Development Administration, have a Bachelor of Arts Honors on Religious Studies and a Post Graduate on Leadership. I have series of certificates on project management and have participated on many training on project cycle management.
