Professional Experience: |
My professional experience consists of over 20 years of working in the nonprofit sector. I have worked in a variety of sectors including mental health, developmental disabilities, workforce development and training, college access and education. Most recently I have been working in development which includes grant writing, fundraising, communication, and oversight of events. My experience also includes endowment management and stewardship, grant making, and educational scholarships. Additionally, board management and strategic planning have been part of my duties.
Program evaluation has been prominent in my current and previous positions. Through my various professional and educational experiences, I have developed skills in building evaluation capacity and designing and implementing evaluation projects and processes. This includes developing and implanting surveys, data analysis, and reporting to a variety of stakeholders.
Database management has been a core function in both my development and program evaluation duties. I currently oversee all activities related to the donor database and in the past worked closely with IT departments to develop databases for scholarship and grant processing and program evaluation.
This background has helped me develop and foster a deep commitment to working within the dictates of a budget and supporting the fiscal sustainability of the organization. I believe this is essential to fulfilling the organization’s mission and carrying out the directives and building trust and respect of investors and donors.
Prior to my roles in management, I worked as a direct care provider, which I believe has provided me with a well-round perspective and knowledge of many aspects of nonprofits.
In summary, I have enjoyed over 20 years in the nonprofit sector gaining a breadth of experience and skills that can be applied to a variety of settings which allows me to be adaptive and flexible. I am able to quickly adapt my past and various experiences to new settings and bring about results. I enjoy working with high performing teams to fulfill the mission of the organization.
