Education: |
Researcher and PhD candidate at the university of Fribourg, Switzerland.
I have BScEng degree in Civil/Irrigation Eng. from Arbaminch Water Technology Institute, Ethiopia and MScEng degree in Engineering hydrology from the school of Bioresources Engineering and Environmental hydrology, University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. After graduation, I did work in surface irrigation projects; reservoirs, earth and rock fill dams, as well as building construction as site engineer for more than 6 years. From my past experiences, I have grasped a lot about irrigation and water resources field of studies. I did my masters research in developing a model to estimate flood routing parameters in ungauged catchments using Muskingum method. From which I have learned a lot about modeling and design hydrology. I have worked as researcher for more than 5 years. In addition, I am able to use surveying instruments such as Theodolite, Total Station, Engineering software’s such as AutoCAD, FORTRAN programming language, MATLAB, R-stat, Arcinfo, IDRISI, ERDAS and PCI-Geomatica; softwares of Bentley (Bentley Civilstorm V8i), HEC-RAS (hydrologic engineering center for the USA army corps of engineers); irrigation water management software’s such as CROPWAT, PLANWAT and SAPWAT.
