Professional Experience:
As a Professional Engineer with twenty years of experience in the construction industry, Andrea has spent the last twelve years designing both private and public infrastructure projects both in the United States and Internationally. A Senior Civil Engineer and Manager of the Civil Engineering and Surveying departments, Andrea’s current primary responsibilities with Larsen Consulting Group in Anchorage, Alaska, USA have to do with managing and designing large and small scale water and sanitation projects in the villages of rural Alaska. A good communicator, Andrea relates well with the Native (Eskimo and Indian) clientele, as well as public officials and other professionals.

Andrea specializes in WASH type projects that include groundwater and surface water development; water system storage, treatment and distribution systems; alternative residential wastewater system analysis; sewage lagoon design; on-site and piped wastewater systems; solid waste facility analysis; roadway design and general land and site development activities.

Her project management skills include proposal preparation; project scheduling; development of scope and budget, project tracking and extensive coordination activities, as well as master planning; agency permitting; specification and contract document preparation; construction inspection services, and public involvement in guiding projects to their completion.

Ms. Stancliff has been working since 2003 in the International Humanitarian Aid arena with Engineers Without Borders – USA (EWB-USA) and served as a member of the EWB-USA Governing Board from 2007 to 2009. She was instrumental in the organization and formation of the West Coast Region, and acted as Vice President of the West Coast Steering Committee from 2002 to 2007. Andrea lead the formation of the West Coast Technical Advisory Committee (WCTAC) of EWB-USA, and has served as Chair of this group since 2006. As such, she has managed and/or overseen the installation of hundreds of projects in over 50 different countries worldwide, ranging from the implementation of household bio-sand filters in Cameroon to health clinic construction and water system improvements in Haiti.

In May of 2004, Andrea acted as a mentor and Civil Engineer on the EWB-USA Samli, Thailand Medical Clinic project with the first executive director of EWB-USA and students from Columbia University. In 2005, she acted as Project Manager and TAC liason on the Mae Nam Khun, Thailand School Dormitory project. She coordinated the activities of twelve University students from three west coast Universities along with five professionals in the design and construction of a 1,900 square foot building with associated on-site wastewater system and drinking water system analysis and treatment design.

Ms. Stancliff has a background in construction having worked in the union labor force for several years on construction projects in the U.S and Asia.
