Professional Experience:
Working currently in UNHCR's Bangladesh operation as Associate Programme Officer, I am an international development professional with expertise in project and programme development and management (project cycle management) as well as general and financial administration. Over the last 9 years, I have acquired a solid (overseas) experience in humanitarian and emergency situations while working in such international organisations as the UN as well as grassroot NGOs. I am strongly familiar with the domain of humanitarian relief and international development, particularly, refugees, food security, livelihoods and agricultural development issues, in practice as well as in academic settings. Thanks to my two masters (Economics and Development Management) and my current academic studies (Food Security Programme Management) as well as my work experience, I have acquired strong analytical and research skills. I have no difficulties in working in a multilingual (English and French) setting.
Offering exceptional numerical, communication and interpretation skills to employers, as well as a good sense for a holistic view and analytical approach of needs, problems and possible solutions, which are great assets in managing any kind of projects and programmes. Moreover, I am vastly skilled in writing grant and project proposals, project-, problem- and donor reports. My problem solving ability and efficiency-oriented mindset always have been acknowledged and called upon by my employers appreciating that I do take the initiative to enhance, correct or facilitate any aspect of work.
Education:
After completing my secondary school (earning a diploma with distinction), I have obtained a BSc and MSc in Economics (with merit), an MSc in Poverty Reduction and Development Management (with merit) and currently seeking a PG Diploma in Food Security Programme Management.
Affiliations and Achievements:
I have worked with and assisted some of the most underprivileged and vulnerable groups of the societies in Africa and Asia, having mobilised and managed over 10 million USD in total for various development projects and programmes, affecting directly or indirectly thousands of benefiting households and in some cases the whole country. I significantly contributed to the organisational development of some of the NGOs I worked with, in some cases leading a substantial reform myself. I am an affiliate member of the International Association of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP) and the Standby Task Force as well as a contributing administrator end editor of the Transnational Foundation of Peace and Future Reserch's FB page.
