Professional Experience:
Executive leadership in international development and diplomacy in bilateral and multilateral contexts. Successfully brought transformative leadership in achieving long-term vision, strategic direction, developing theories of change, managing implementation and assessing performance. Extensive experience in developing and nurturing relationships at the highest levels; worked directly with Heads of Government and Ministers including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC). Proven ability to build and maintain networks and relationships across sectors and negotiate contracts and technical assistance with multiple stakeholders. Proven track record in supporting regional cooperation and linkages with intergovernmental institutions such as the UN, Pacific Island Forum Secretariat (PIFS), Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), East Africa Community (EAC), Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) and ASEAN. Significant track record in facilitating dialogue and consultation processes, building and negotiating alliances and coalitions and establishing and maintaining south-to-south and triangular partnerships.

As Deputy Director-General of the Commonwealth Foundation (2012-2019), Myn led the strategic architecture of the organisation, securing a mandate from Commonwealth member states in 2012 to support sustainable development through people’s participation in governance across the Commonwealth and beyond. At the Commonwealth Foundation, she provided leadership in re-structuring the organisation and successfully implemented change management policies in response to the organisation’s strategic plans.

Proven organizational and programme leadership in HQ and in the field.
Programme, fiscal, HR, risk and security management of two large bilateral- Global Affairs Canada (GAC)- governance programmes in-country in Afghanistan and the Philippines, with budgets of CDN$12 Million and CDN $18 Million respectively.

She has worked in conflict and political transition environments for the last 18 years. Myn led an institutional strengthening governance programme in Afghanistan funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) as Director for Development and worked on peace and conflict impact assessment and local governance in Sri Lanka.

Expertise and applied knowledge in capacity development, knowledge management, gender and its intersectionality, peacebuilding, communications and results-based management. Led the design and management of grants programmes. Myn believes in the value that local ownership of customised solutions and incremental and iterative approaches add in achieving systemic change.

Lived and worked successfully in multicultural settings in Afghanistan, Canada, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. Work experience covers Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific Islands, Europe, the United Kingdom and Canada. Worked in conflict and political transitions environments in the last 18 years. Performance consistently rated outstanding or exceeding expectations.
