Zone HIV/AIDS Counseling & Testing supervisor Liaise with CHSU (Community Health Surveillance Unit) and HTSS [Diagnostics] and Laboratory Technicians at District Hospitals to ensure that National Quality Assurance system for HIV testing is operating following established Quality Assurance protocols. 2.Support and mentor district based HIV Testing and Counselling (HTC) Supervisors and Coordinators to ensure that: •New HTC sites are properly assessed and certified. •HTC counsellors are effectively performing their counselling and HIV testing duties. •That HTC registers are properly being filled in and that all HTC related data in Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) registers is also collected. •Accurate and timely HTC data collection, analysis, and reporting to the District Health Office, Zonal Office and Headquarters. •That all Essential Medical and Laboratory Services (EMLS) forms relating HTC Kits logistical system are being filled in as required at all HTC sites. •Ensure that district based HTC supervisors are conducting regular direct observation of HIV counselling sessions which should be followed by immediate feedback, to all newly trained and qualified HTC counsellors. 3.Promote a spirit of individual responsibility and commitment among all HTC Counsellors, including PMTCT providers that are providing HTC services in Anti Natal Clinic and Maternity Settings, to provide quality HIV counselling and testing to all clients. 4.Assist in monitoring the quality of district/zonal based HTC trainings. 5.Assist district based HTC supervisors/Coordinators to identify HTC refresher training needs. Assist in the organisation and coordination of such refresher trainings, either at district level or zonal level. 6.Check on a regular basis that all necessary materials and counselling aids are available at all HTC sites, including counselling protocols, Quality Assessment protocols, HIV testing protocols, condoms, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Materials, test kits, condom demo pens, etc. 7.Assist in the dissemination of HTC materials and HIV/AIDS related materials in all districts in the zone.
Clinical Training Officer 2010-TO 2011 Provide logistical, administrative & technical support to the CTS, HCT teams & other programmatic sectors as needed Directly supervise & conduct performance monitoring of HCT counselors Hold weekly staff meetings with HCT teams & participate in other meetings as needed Assist in organizing & conducting refresher trainings for HCT counselors, HC staff, HBC providers, PSLs, VHTs & midwives on related clinical HIV services & referrals Support follow up activities to all trainings conducted in order to assess/evaluate knowledge retention by participants Conduct supervisory visit with HCT team & provide feedback to the team in both verbal & written form Collaborate with HC staff and HCT counselors to strengthen referrals & discuss key issues, gaps, and problems faced

EDUCATION: Master Of Public Administration (MPA 2011 IUIU) Bachelor Of Public Administration (BPA, 2005,IUIU) Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community health, 1993 Cert. in Wider role of a volunteer,2011 Cert. in Reproductive Health, 1998 ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Cert in HIV/AIDS prevention counseling. Cert. in Clinical Instruction (AMREF) Couple counseling Protocol train the trainer. Finance for non finance manager (UMI) Certificate in computer M/S word, excel and internet.
