Professional Experience:
Worked with Ministry of health, Kenya in clinical and community nutrition with specialty in HIV/ AIDS and Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition.
Part of the pioneer team to implement MIYCN in Dadaab refuge camps in CARE Kenya, Emergency response operations, inclusive of capacity building the program managers, health workers and community, Project management and final exit handover of the project to health implementing partners, Budget/ proposal writing and management, Donor and project report writing, Monitoring and evaluation, Carried out nutrition surveys, development of training and IEC materials.
Consulted with PATH Kenya on Integrated Management of Malnutrition by assessing training needs and capacity building and mentoring of health workers as well as implementation of the guideline.
She worked with UNICEF Kenya in various Arid and Semi arid lands in Kenya. Responsible for capacity building through on job training health workers, Coordinating nutrition activities, Lobbying and advocating for nutrition issues and multi-sectoral approach in nutrition activities. Monitoring and evaluation of nutrition activities
Maternal infant and young child nutrition consultant with UNICEF Ethiopia( Dollo ado refugee camp) with responsibility to capacity build, advocate for infant feeding in emergencies and BMS codes. Implement an ideal baby friendly center in each camp in dollo ado refugee camp.
Worked as a Barrier analysis, KAP and IYCF survey international consultant for IMC Ethiopia ensuring quality data collection and data entry as well as training of the enumerators.
Education:
A bachelor of Science degree in Food Nutrition and Dietetics from Kenyatta University, Kenya. With special trainings in Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition programming, Nutrition in HIV/ AIDS and management of malnutrition. In addition have personal education development in monitoring and evaluation and program management.
