I am an accomplished international professional, team lead, project manager and value chain expert with 20+ years of experience in market systems development, enterprise development, strategic planning and project management in East and Southern Africa. With an extensive managerial and business development background, I have provided quality leadership to staff of up to 130 local and international professionals, directed interventions in Dairy, Coffee, Horticulture, Irrigation, Youth, Entrepreneurship, Women, Enterprise, Agriculture, Livestock and co-led a Kenya-based company to triple their profits and realize robust growth. As Country Director for TechnoServe in Rwanda and currently KickStart in Zambia, I was and am responsible for the performance and success of all Country programs in addition to collaboration and maintenance of relationships with the Government of the host Country, donors, organizational development, program implementation, financial management and human resource development. During my time as the Senior Business Manager on the East Africa Dairy Development (EADD) Program in Rwanda, I further demonstrated my strong record of capable project leadership and staff management through the recognition of me and my team’s work in financial management training for dairy hubs in Rwanda by TechnoServe’s President’s Award in 2011 and was instrumental in the design and start-up of the MasterCard Foundation funded Strengthening Rural Youth Development through Enterprise (STYRDE) in Rwanda. As Market Development Advisor in Kenya, I helped set up the USDA funded Livestock Support Project and as Commercial Director for Sidai Africa Limted, I set up the Commercial Department of the organization and helped refine the thinking around the commercial strategy for the organization. I have valuable private sector experience through several private sector roles including National Sales & Marketing Manager/Co-General Manager and Regional Sales Manager at Unga Farm Care (East Africa) Limited, Brand Manager, Retail Branch Manager and Strategy consultant to Kijenge Animal Feeds Limited and Kenmill Millers in Tanzania inter alia.
