To Department of Human Resources,

As a well-educated and professional individual, I am extremely interested in submitting an application for the advertised vacant position at your organisation. I believe my analytical thought and communication skills learned and developed from course works and work experiences will make me a very competitive candidate for this position.

I completed a Bachelor of International Business in 2010 with a major of marketing and politics at Macquarie University. During my bachelor degree, I had been working with QEC as a marketing assistant. My role was helping manager by organizing and maintaining client database, reporting and documentation.

I believe that analyzing and interpreting the implicit meaning of statements and report from Australian government and other international organizations in regards to economy were essential experience to the position you have advertised. I had an opportunity to improve those skills since, I have been commenced my recent job as an Economy and Trade Researcher.

I am also currently working at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Australia since 2011 as Economy and Trade Researcher. My role covers all matters related to economy such as government economy and trade policies reporting and analysing such as government budget, climate change, industry and etc; ranging from gathering data, end to end processing of selected, and based on those analyses, I advise to Counsellor and Ambassador for decision process.

Finally, my current position has given me opportunities to get involved in the process of bilateral and mutilateral negotiation such as Free Trade Agreement, Paris COP21 and preparing for major international events such as G20 summit in Brisbane and the other official bilateral meetings.

Environmental issues becoming important within international economy and trade as environment chapter has been included in Trans-Pacific Partnership. Therefore, I am currently studying Post Graduate degree in Environmental management at University of New South Wales. During my degree and work, I particularly interested in climate change policies, such as carbon tax and sustainable development, and I also believe that this study will enhance my understanding of agenda and trends for current international society.

As I am studying environmental management, I am willing to be involved to work on climate change issues. I believe that there are many issues to be done, such as reduction of emission, e-waste management and technical improvement for more efficiency, to achieve sustainable development. These cannot be done without cooperation between government, private sector and communities. As I have worked in government and working on policies to respond on climate change and environmental issues which provide me better understanding of structure of policy making. Furthermore, my current position allow me to build human network with governmental officials in both Korean and Australian. Based on these facts, I assure that I am the utmost suitable person for this position.

I understand that you will receive a large number of applications for this role. I do, however, believe that my motivation, commitment, pre-existing skills and experiences will allow me to fit into your work environment and immediately start supporting the needs of your organization.

I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my application at an interview. I have enclosed a copy of my resume for your consideration. I can be contacted at all times on the details provided above.

Thank you for your time on my application,

Sincerely yours,

Seong Tae, CHO
