I have three years professional experience with the UN working in various capacities for a weather-index insurance pool for the African Union. In my capacity as a Regional Programme Officer, I have experience in project management, legal bilateral negotiations, weather-index insurance modelling and contingency planning in 13 countries which fall under my responsibility. I also have experience working in Iraq as a Liaison Officer at the Office of the Prime Minister where my key achievement was the development of a proposal for a civil service reform programme which was adopted as a collaborative initiative with the UN. In addition to this I have experience working for a UK think-tank, a non-governmental organisation, a leading UK academic institution and the UK civil services. I hold an advanced degree in Development Studies. I have excellent written and oral communication in English, advanced level of spoken and intermediate level written Arabic.
