30 years experience as tree-breeder, plant-breeder, improved planting material for agricultural development. also tropical and temperate forestry. 5 years experience successfully managing Research Department and commercial seed-production (oil-palm, Cameroon, for Unilever). 3 year contract to select and breed cashew clones resistant to powdery mildew (DFID, Tanzania). 3 year contract of germplasm prospecting and development of new coconut hybrids (for Papua New Guinea Cocoa and Coconut Research Institute). Trainer for tropical agricultural field experimentation, assessment, statistical analysis and publication (also PhD or MSc of counterparts).
9 years experience as Project Leader for improvement of five UK hardwoods for Forest Research (Forestry Commission) including UK participation in EU Projects, "Fraxigen" and "Realising Ash's Potential".
Consultancy to select native tree species to re-afforest Kibira Forest in Burundi (AR/REDD project of Ecosystem Restoration Associates) and oil-palm consultancies in Cameroon and Ghana.
