Professional Experience:
1. 21 years management experience as Principal and Deputy Principal of the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe mission stations involving leading and managing large staff (over a 100) to cover secondary school teachers (most of them university graduates from different cultural backgrounds), office, boarding, kitchen, grounds, nurses, agriculture, drivers and maintenance staff in challenging rural environment.
2. Managed people effectively to achieve impact and raised education standards by improving academic achievement in the GCSE results from 26% to 92% pass rate.
3. Built good working relationships with the parents community and other stakeholders and through sound leadership and good planning, applied for permission and constructed a complete A level school and a clinic from local resources with the help of some donors.
4. Wrote project proposals that got funding from donors:
Project (a) sewage scheme for the entire mission station; (b) water reticulation plant motor and pump at source, 3km of pvc piping, water flocculation and filtration plant and water treatment plant for entire mission station; (c) A level Science Laboratory Complex complete (d) Laboratory for visually impaired students, braille equipment, type writers and tape recorders, canes, braille paper and other supporting equipment as well braille specialist’s house; (e) A level students’ library, four teachers’ houses and geography laboratory complex; (f) Dairy project including milking parlour, grassland development, 10 herd of Friesland cows and a bull; Two x 50 lire coal fired cooking pots and industrial stove for boarding kitchen and 10000 books and shelving for the library books.

Dissertation title: An investigation of education policy implementation and financing at local level and its impact on attainment of children: A case study of primary schools in Gweru urban in the Midlands Province in Zimbabwe.

Affiliations and Achievements:
1. Chairman of secondary schools head teachers for the Midlands Province in Zimbabwe and a member of the national executive for 10 years. Successfully hosted the Annual National Secondary Schools Head teachers’ Conference in 1994 and the Annual National Athletics Competitions for all secondary schools in Zimbabwe in 1996;
2. The school for which I was head teacher received the Education Secretary’s Award for all round excellent performance in 2000.
3. A member of the National Science Curriculum Panel that produced the currently used secondary schools GCE ordinary level science syllabuses approved by Cambridge University Local Examinations Syndicate (1983-1996) for 14 years.
4. Parent governor at Colton Hills Community High School in Wolverhampton (UK) 2002-2009 and helped the school to come out of special measures in 2004 and to subsequently achieve Specialist School for Languages status in 2008.
5. Examiner and team leader for GCE ordinary level biology and deputy chief examiner for human and social biology with the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (1984- 1996)
