Professional Experience:
I was first employed as a Research Assistant in 1991 by the Danish International Development Agency in Zimbabwe on a two year contract assessing the socioeconomic impact of rural feeder roads in rural areas. After that I worked again as a a research assistant for the University of Zimbabwe for one year before joining the public service as a community service officer and later as a District Administrator. My job as a district administrator entailed coordinating all the government development and relief programmes in the district. I would also conduct research work for the government as well as conduct monitoring and evaluation exercises. I organised local and parliamentary elections in the years 2000 and 2002. I joined the WFP in 2002 as a field monitor in charge of the food programmes in the western part of Zimbabwe. I conducted basic food security monitoring as well as providing technical assistance to the Implementing NGOs. I was part of the food security monitoring teams in more than 10 food security surveys conducted over a period of 10 years. I left WFP in 2011 to pursue a Masters Degree in Peace and Governance. I worked for WFP South Sudan for six months as a team leader on a humanitarian assistance programme. Part of job in entailed coordination, reporting logistics and conflict management among others. I also attended a course on food security cluster coordination in Stuttgart in Germany last year sponsored by the Norwegian Refugee Council. I have some training in Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) as well as a UNICEF online certificate in Introduction to Child Protection
Education:

Mr. Tsepo Cheda is a seasoned, conflict management and development practicioner with extensive experience in conflict analysis, capacity building, reporting and documentation, peacebuilding, govrnance, livelihood development and an expert in surveys and assessments. He has dedicated his career to conflict management, humanitarian assistance and supporting development programming in Zimbabwe and South Sudan working as a Programme Officer for WFP. He is especially passionate about peacebuilding, conflict amanagement and huamnitarian assistance. He has experience in undretaking conflict analysis and conflict sensitivity risk assessments to facilitate efficient humanitarian work. In addition, Mr. Cheda has overseen and implemented human security programming, including needs assessments, and he has 15 years of field work, demonstrating a results-oriented management and staff mentorship leadership style. Mr. Cheda holds a Master of Science degree in Peace and Governance, a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sociology from the University of Zimbabwe and is currently a PhD Conflict Management Candidate at the Durban Univesirty of Techonology in South Africa. He has researched and published on terrorism, human rights and natural resources exploploitaion. He speaks and writes English fluently.
