Professional Experience:
I am an international development practitioner with experience and academic training in international development, social justice, community development, peacebuilding, transitional justice, and post-conflict reconstruction in Africa. For instance, in my most recent work, I served as the head and team leader of the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding in Ghana. I was responsible for developing and implementing the strategic direction, overall management, and leadership of the Ghana country office, including program development, grant applications, monitoring, evaluation, staff supervision, and other administrative duties. Previously, I worked for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as a human security program specialist for the joint United Nations Human Security Program in northern Ghana. Before joining the UNDP, I worked as a program officer for CARE International in Ghana. At UNDP and CARE International, I was responsible for facilitating project implementation at the field level and ensuring that project deliverables are met. These experiences have prepared me with: 1) strategic and technical leadership skills, including budgeting, resource mobilization, and managing complex multi-donor emergency, recovery, and development projects. 2) field-level first-hand project implementation and coordination skills, and 3) skills in stakeholder engagement, including establishing and maintaining partnerships with both state and non-state actors at various levels.
