Professional Experience:
I am a digitally-inclined and media-savvy professional with top level experience in delivering amazing communications that bring ideas to life. I know how to take an idea forward quickly, test, launch and learn from mistakes.

I love technology, the Internet and social applications and I’d love to bring my expertise and enthusiasm to any opportunity that comes my way. I have experience managing various social media platforms and an ability to present data, results, impact, and information in a compelling way to difference audiences. I am able to communicate across technical disciplines and non-technical audience as required.

In my current role as CEO + Founder of Goat Orders (www.goatorders.co.zw), I am responsible for providing company wide inspired leadership. Using human designing methodology, I launched Goat Orders as a digital start-up aimed at improving marginalised smallholder goat farmer's lives and livelihoods. As part of this work, I am responsible for building and modelling a great company culture, and overseeing the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.

In my previous role as Senior Communications and Public Engagement Manager at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), I championed organization-wide collaboration, knowledge co-creation and sharing, delivering metrics that inform decisions and create new ways to tell stories. I crafted and implemented strategies to advance AIMS’ mission, major initiatives and media campaigns, with a particular focus on digital communications, including social media and other platforms.

As Global Internal Communications Officer for Hivos.org, I developed communications processes and protocols to gather information across geographical territories, organizational departments and thematic issues. I developed and implemented plans for strengthening internal communications to foster a cohesive institutional culture and knowledge sharing and strengthen the capacity of Hivos staff to communicate the organization’s priority messages and accomplishments to target audiences.

As Regional Communications for Hivos Southern Africa, I gained invaluable experience in supporting the organisation's agenda through such tools and tactics as strategy and message development, editorial support, social media and digital communications, powerful storytelling, media relations, design and creative services, and digital and video production, among others.

Prior to this, I worked in multiple roles at national, regional and global levels focusing on a wide array of thematic issues which has helped to enhance my versatility.

I have a deep understanding of the power of language and communications to move people and create change. In addition, I have superior management skills, including the ability to advocate for and manage budget priorities.

I have an ability to apply judgment in the context of assignments given, plan own work and manage conflicting priorities. I have strong personal initiative, problem solving skills, creativity, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

My first-hand global experience and sensitivity to cultural differences have helped me to refine and apply proven communication strategies across a wide range of development sectors.

I strongly believe that I would make an excellent candidate who is dynamic, creative, multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural and has a hands-on understanding of strategic and evidence-based communications.
