1. NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS ? Developed a Micro-finance Regulatory Policy Framework for Botswana and also a Term of Reference for Micro-finance Act for Botswana. ? Member of Shore Bank International Consultancy Team that conducted a Study for AFD on ‘Access to affordable housing and housing finance for underserved low- to moderate income households in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA)- Ghana, Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania ? Wrote a Case Study on Challenges and Opportunities in Housing Microfinance Partnerships: The Case of Habitat for Humanity Malawi and SELECT Financial Services ? Conducted a Housing Microfinance Market Research with an MFI in Madagascar and developed a Housing Microfinance Loan Product for the same MFI in Madagascar ? Performed Due Diligence for MFIs that wanted to go into Housing Microfinance (HMF) partnership with Habitat for Humanity. I did this for 2 MFIs (one in Madagascar that led to the development of the HMF product and another in Malawi, which is partnering with Habitat for Humanity in wholesale HMF lending). ? I reviewed the 5-Year Business Plan for WISDOM MFI in Ethiopia, using the MFI Business Planning Tool-MICROFIN. This enabled the organization to identify critical areas that will enable it to increase revenue and reduce cost of operations. ? Managed a $3m Rural Savings Project in Ethiopia, financed by Bill Gates Foundation to extend savings services in WISDOM MFI to reach 165,000 clients. ? I introduced a Micro-Savings Scheme for FINCA DR Congo and mobilized over 50,000 US Dollars in micro-savings over a 6-week pilot period, more than what FINCA DR Congo could mobilize over 2 years! ? I assisted in establishing a POS Project Team in FINCA DR Congo and helped in writing documents such as Point of Sale/Smart Card Technology-Proposal to Central Bank of Congo, Financial Education Proposal to Central Bank of Congo, FINCA-AGENT POS Agreement, etc. ? I have set up the Operations Unit (which included a Standard Performance Monitoring Template for MFIs) of a global microfinance network-ECLOF International in Geneva where I managed the operations of 21 country programmes. This initiative enabled ECLOF to monitor the performance of its 21 Microfinance Institutions all over the world. ? Leader of Micro-savings “SUSU” Product at Opportunity International Savings & Loans-Ghana that mobilized 70:100-Deposit to Loans Ratio in 2009 ? I was part of the team that pioneered ATM banking in Ghana in 1994 whilst working with The Trust Bank Ltd. This initiative increased the efficiency of the bank by about 20% and offered the platform for educating other banks in Ghana to introduce the ATM technology
