Professional Experience:
I am currently the DCOP/Comms Director for a five year 48 million USD buy-in project providing communications, knowledge management, training, facilitation and organizational development services to 10 operating units within USAID’s Center for the Environment, Energy and Infrastructure (EEI). In this role, I manage a team of communications specialists and consultants to develop and implement communications strategies and activities for the majority of USAID’s environmental work, including climate change, energy, biodiversity, green cities, ocean plastic pollution, air quality, land and resource governance, natural climate solutions, and infrastructure. I also oversee development and implementation of low/medium/high level events on behalf of EEI’s divisions, including in person and virtual panel discussions, conferences, communicators’ groups, etc. and develop, review and sign off on key communications products and technical deliverables, such as success stories, blogs, annual reports, blogs, event communications, social media content, etc. I ensure that communications products align with key USAID strategic messages to target diverse audiences including Congress, USAID/Washington and USAID Mission leadership, USAID staff worldwide and international development and general audiences in the U.S. and overseas. I have also managed communications for other USAID, DFAT/Australian Aid, and other donor-funded projects focused on freshwater resource management, health, education and private sector development. I believe that my strongest skills are team management, communications strategy development, writing, and ensuring the successful production of a range of compelling communications products to show the results of a project.
