Professional Experience:
I currently work in the areas of youth/community development and health promotion, all within anti-oppression and human rights based models.
I coordinated university based community research projects in Canada and the Middle East that looked at youth-led peace initiatives using art and play as tools for youth empowerment and engagement. These projects ranged from themes of peace building in the Middle East to health promotion and community development for refugee and immigrant youth in Canada.

Over the course of my career, I worked in community based research, youth programming, cross cultural development, media design and community engagement. I have also created and lead successful media and advocacy campaigns for the benefit of refugee youth.

I have also been involved in networks and initiatives that addresses issues of gender based violence. This started back as a University student in the Middle East where I have fought for the elimination of gender based segregation in certain educational spaces on campus as well as supporting the representation of female students within a male dominant student council. Most recently, I have been involved in the establishing of the Pomegranate Tree Group in Toronto; a collaboration between artists, lawyers, community organizers, researchers and counsellors working to address issues relating to gender based violence.
