Professional Experience: |
With a background in electrical engineering and project management I have enjoyed progressively responsible roles across the public and private sector during my career. As an Energy Officer with the Government of Tonga I was involved with every aspect, from funding proposal, logistics to final installation of solar PV electrification project in remote island communities. In addition, I also served as a technology analyst for the Government’s primary energy policy and was the lead planner on a number of policy and funding proposals put forward by the Tongan Government from 2009-2011. After progressing to the role of Project Coordinator within the Prime Minister’s Office in Tonga, I was responsible for managing a number of varied energy projects and ensuring the correct reporting of the progress of these projects to shareholders.
In addition, as a consultant working with a number of agencies involved with energy projects in Tonga. As a National Energy Efficiency Consultant in Tonga, I successfully implemented projects requiring consumer lead energy efficiency measures on their properties. Furthermore, as a Project Engineering Consultant at the Tongan Power Limited (the National Electrical Utility) I was tasked with a large amount of data analysis and modelling of the Oil and Gas Market for the South Pacific, Energy use patterns on Tonga’s islands and the monitoring and evaluation of the company’s data gathering projects.
I enjoy a challenge and work hard to attain my goals, achieving scholarships for both my tertiary degrees and receiving a number of commendations from every employer I have worked with. Now that I have relocated to London with my partner, I am looking for a new long-term challenge. Affiliations and Achievements: |
Outside of my professional life I volunteer with the Tonga Rugby Union as an Administrative manager. I undertook the role of Manager for the Women's Sevens programme and then as the Assistant Team Manager for the Tongan National Rugby team I was tasked with day-to-day administration during the team’s 2012 and 2013 tour of Europe. This involved confident negotiation with high profile players and coaches, detailed forward planning and execution of sideline management during high pressure test matches against the Wales, France, Romania, USA, Italy and Scotland.
