Professional Experience:
I have extensive experience of over 13 years working as a team leader with multicultural and cross-functional teams across a wide range of industries (Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Mining, Financial Services and Power Generation), spanning North America and Africa to identify and implement strategies for cost re-engineering, organizational growth, revenue growth, expansion of distribution channels and improvement of overall profitability. My educational background is in Physics (BSc, Macalester College, St. Paul, MN), Mechanical Engineering (MSc, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN) and Finance and Strategic Development (MBA, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN.)

Currently, I work as a Country Director for Tulima Solar Uganda and have been in this role for three(3) years. Tulima Solar is a Productive Use Renewable Energy company that finances energy efficient equipment designed to utilize solar power for off-grid business in Uganda. Tulima Solar currently sales, installs and services Solar Water Pumps and Water Dispensing through flexible payment options to smallholder farmers. In this role, I have steered new product development for three (3) main products, developed marketing plans and scaling strategies with the Commercial Team; recruited over 30 value chain partners that resulted in over 450 off-grid solar water pump system installations with revenues of over USD 700,000 in 3 years since company launch. We have also achieved a total credit portfolio of over 200 customers with PAR30 under 15%, a default rate of under 2% and NPS score of over 60 since launch and spearheaded Monitoring & Evaluation exercises for four (4) RBF grants worth over EUR 500,000 since company inception. Finally, I am accountable for the full Business Operations budget of Uganda; led the bottoms up forecasting and budgets process, innovated around cost containment strategies, reduced CAC and increased CAC increased resource utilization during very challenging Covid-19 years.

Previous, I worked for Potenza Lubricants (Uganda) as a Country Manager responsible for identifying market segments, market entry strategies, segment penetration strategies and developing “winning” product portfolio mixes to successfully improve sales and profitability. We have so far managed to sell over 80,000 liters of lubricants within a space of 6 months in a very competitive market.

I have previously worked as an assistant plant manager for Steel & Tube Industries (Uganda) leading a team of over 600 production staff through 7 direct senior level reports, overseeing the production of 18,000 tons per month of Nails, hollow sections, TMT bars, Wire mesh, plates, expanded metal, iron sheets and Galvanized wire across three plants and was responsible for strategic planning for raw material, WIP consumables and spares within the Production Department to ensure timely completion and support of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and production inventory plans.

Additionally, I am a co-founder and managing director for Evenpath Investments in Botswana, a company responsible for supplying lubricants and mechanical parts (valves, pumps, etc) to Botswana Diamond mines. In this role, I was accountable for managing key principal and client relationships across the company; added 5 principals and 3 large clients to our portfolio responsible for 90% of company revenue, grew sales in Lubricants, Mining Equipment and Commodities by over 200% YOY.

I hold a Bachelors degree in Physics with an emphasis in Photovoltaic Technologies (BSc, Macalester College, St. Paul, MN), a Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Renewable Energy (MSc, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN) and Finance and Strategic Business Development (MBA, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN.)
