Professional Experience:
My graduate research and first-hand experience working for companies, NGOs and international organizations provide me with a deep theoretical and practical understanding of the complexity of relations and negotiations between different types of stakeholders and the risks posed when positive relationships are not formed.

During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I particularly focused on the politics and economics of African countries. In my graduate thesis I proposed a protocol to help companies identify and proactively mitigate the risks they face when beginning operations in emerging countries. These recommendations were based on a case study of Shell’s failure to initially understand the complexities of the Niger Delta and the ongoing consequences. My subject was actually inspired by my observations working for a multinational company in Tunisia.

During the three years I spent working and doing business in francophone Africa, I demonstrated that I am able to establish strong working relationships and connections across any ‘barrier’- language, culture, age, hierarchy, etc. When negotiating with local and regional suppliers for Henkel, I was able to achieve impressive savings because of my ability to relate to others and gain their trust. These strengths also helped me find mutually beneficial solutions to payment issues when mediating between the company and our suppliers.

My interpersonal and communication skills are also an asset because I am just as at ease when making a cold call as I am when speaking in front of an auditorium full of people- both of which I did often as president of AIESEC. These skills were also useful when identifying and setting up meetings with potential suppliers at Henkel and when networking internationally to attract new customers at Integration Objects.

I believe that my strengths and experience would be an asset to any organization or corporation and I look forward to discussing potential opportunities with you.
