Professional Experience:
My professional background is quite varied, having worked in consultancy, research and for different NGOs in a range of different countries and environments.

I am currently working as an independent consultant specializing in issues of education, disability and peace-building. In the past few years I have been working at a number of NGOs where I have worked extensively on programme management, capacity building, child protection, education, advocacy and disability issues.

In my last position as a development advisor for the Atlas-Alliance I had both education and M+E as my key areas of expertise with particular focus on inclusive education. I had overall responsibility for development projects in 10 different African and Asian countries – Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Eritrea, South Africa, Nepal and India - where I worked with follow-up, capacity building, feasibility studies and evaluations.

The Atlas Alliance is a rights based umbrella organisation consisting of 18 Norwegian organisations who work with disability in developing countries. In my position in the Secretariat we were focused on improving the capacity of our member organisations in different programmatic areas. This differed according to need but included providing technical support in areas such as results based planning and management, risk analyses, gender and anti-corruption. Developing effective monitoring and evaluation mechanisms was a key facet of this, and one of our key focus areas in which to improve the quality of our member’s projects. Likewise, I was heavily involved in evaluation processes connected to our partners and their projects. This included conducting feasibility studies and mid-term evaluations myself, as well as commissioning evaluations and assisting our member organisations in evaluation processes.

In my position as Institutional Funding Office at SOS Children’s Villages, an international NGO, I worked with both development programming as well as institutional funding and child rights. A significant amount of my work was spent working with South Sudan, on issues such as education and child protection. I also conducted a final evaluation of a Norad sponsored child soldier project

In both my work with consultancy and NGOs I have been involved in developing projects and applications for a range of institutional donors such as the EU, World Bank, USAID, Danida, Norad, UNICEF and UNWomen. At Rambøll Management I was heavily involved in anti-corrutpion issues – which included running Danida’s online anti-corruption course.

Meanwhile as a researcher at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) I worked on a variety of issues such as peace-building, post-conflict development, the politics of energy subsidies and renewable energy.

I am used to working with a range of stakeholders, be it representatives from UNICEF, UNESCO and the World Bank, government officials, programme staff, beneficiaries themselves o
