- Twenty years of experience in water/aquatic resources management for sustainable rural development, working at local, national and regional level addressing agricultural and aquatic resources production, biodiversity, adaptation and resilience. - Background in research and development with Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) for a total of 10 years. Currently CEO of an intergovernmental river basin agency (Mekong River Commission, MRC) with earlier experience as Coordinator of 50 development agencies in Southeast Asia (four years with Wetlands Alliance, WA) and for six years Head of the Environment Programme of MRC. - Thirteen years experience in managing/coordinating and implement collaborative activities in aquatic resources management and rural development with government agencies and NGOs in both research and development (AIT and WA) and intergovernmental cooperation (MRC). - Practical experience in developing transboundary environmental agreements and protocols as well as overseeing transboundary cooperation in river basin managemet. - Well experienced in collaborating with international agencies and to represent my organization in international meetings and conferences. - Experience in international liaison and extensive network with government agencies and international development organizations in South East Asia. - Familiar with mainstreaming training, gender, and environmental issues across different programmes, and addressing climate change issues in existing programmes. - Well familiar with planning (including financial), reporting and monitoring according to LFA procedures through programme and project cycles. - Senior management experience from development programmes and research projects. - Well experienced in planning and conducting workshops and other training activities specifically with government staff at different levels. - Extensive experience in facilitation of meetings and work sessions with government agencies using participatory approaches. - Experience in implementation of joint programmes; e.g. Mekong Wetlands Biodiversity Programme (GEF-UNDP/MRC/IUCN), ADAPT-Water, Climate, Food and Environment under Climate Change (IWMI/MRC/IVM) - Experience in programme development and evaluation, e.g. WorldFish (ICLARM) Wetlands Approach Projects, UNDP/FAO Aquaculture in Laos, AIT Aqua Outreach Programme, etc.
