Professional Experience: |
|
A former journalist, I have been working in communications for around 10 years. With high-level experience in the Middle East, I also have a background in NGO work. While employed as a consultant for Burson-Marsteller, one of the world's leading PR firms, I also run a small niche consultancy that has carried out major projects for Medicines Sans Frontieres, the government of Ethiopia (in conjunction with the European Union), and the World Economic Forum. A broad skills base, I am known for my excellent writing skills, as well as strategic development and tactical implementation of complex communications programmes. I am looking for communications focused roles that will also take advantage of my experience in other fields, such as analysis and business development.

In 1991, at the age of 18 while on my gap year, I founded the St Petersburg Times newspaper in Russia; working on this full time until end of 1993, I returned to UK and immediately landed a senior job in newspapers. As such, my education has been more practical and hands-on than formal, working in very senior editorial positions from a very young age.
