Affiliations and Achievements: |
As you can see from my CV, the key strengths that I posses include but they are not limited to the following:
- Strong academic background: After a bachelor and a master in International Relations, I decided to pursue a specialisation in forced migration. Thus, I attended the International Summer School at the University of Oxford (Refugee Studies Centre) and I also obtained a master degree in Migration Studies at the University of Sussex.
- Excellent project and programme management skills: I have excellent project management skills, which I have demonstrated throughout my previous postings. As a grants officer, I was able to build strong grant writing skills and I am able to prepare proposals for different donors using the log-frame approach. I am also experienced in writing qualitative and quantitative reports for various donors. I demonstrated strong leadership skills during my assignment with NRC in South Sudan, where I was responsible for a team of 18 people. Additionally, I have skills in M&E as well as financial management and follow up. In fact, I developed tools to monitor the outputs of projects, assess their impact and follow-up/forecast the use of the budget.
- In depth knowledge and practical experience with emergency education programming in East Africa: I have extensive experience in developing education programmes in humanitarian/early recovery contexts. In Albania, Chad and South Sudan I was responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of various education and child protection projects. In South Sudan, I was responsible for the NRC non-formal education programme and for the capacity building of the Ministry of Education through the training of teachers and officials (methodology and English skills). In Chad I was focusing on early-childhood development, primary education and teacher trainings. I developed a teacher-training scheme and I enhanced the protection of vulnerable children and youths through various project initiatives. Last but not least, in Albania I was responsible for organising vocational, life skills trainings and post-training follow-up to returnees. Due to these postings, I am well familiar of the INEE Minimum Standards, which have always had an overriding priority in the implementation of my programmes.
- Extensive experience in liaising and networking with the education cluster, donors, agencies, institutions and traditional actors: I have much experience in cooperating with institutional actors (at national and local level), the EU, UN agencies and NGOs. I have direct experience in liaising with the Ministry of Education, education clusters and other relevant actors involved in education programming.
- Strong personal motivation: I am able to plan and organize work independently but I also enjoy being part of a team. I have the ability to learn new concepts quickly and I enjoy working in a fast paced multi-cultural work environment. I possess strong communication and relationship building skills and I am fluent in English and French.
