Professional Experience:

Developing and implementing results-based strategies and programmes that support the Southern Africa region’s efforts directed at trade development, trade facilitation and addressing both demand and supply-side constraints to trade and regional integration in order to expand trade and generate inclusive economic development and growth within the Sub-Region, COMESA, SADC and beyond. Monitoring, Evaluating, and where necessary, adjust strategy and programmes scope implementation in line with the results based planning approach, monitoring and evaluation framework and set key objectives, result frameworks and performance indicators. Developing and implementing the regional office’s work plan and programs budgeting and subsequent reporting according to set guidelines, internal processes and procedures. Overall management and technical direction of the sub-regional programmes and well as the office programmes, work plans and budget to ensure successful project delivery. Play the role of focal point to all African Union inclusive economic development and integration agenda’s sub-regional stakeholders including Regional Economic Communities e.g. SADC, EAC ECA-SA & COMESA, development partners and Member States. Collaborate, with a diverse range of stakeholders, in organizing experts meetings / seminars on key thematic issues

Providing vision, strategic, operational and administrative leadership essential for effective program implementation and nurturing organizational, Member States and partner/donor relations. Recruit, train and supervise senior administrative and programme staff; ensuring clear scopes, reporting lines, delegation of authority and sense of team. Implement continuous staff mentoring and professional development. Over see an integrated package of capacity building, organizational development, technical assistance, and training and study tours for organizational programme staff. Guide and ensure the highest quality of program delivery, including headquarter/field office coordination, prime/sub-program management, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and communication. Oversee the design and management of the procurement guidelines and processes and competitive selection of consultants and service providers, ensuring that appropriate administrative, financial and logistical procedures are established and maintained in accordance with internal guidelines, Assume financial accountability of the programmes and assure adherence to set rules and regulations.
