Kim Kane is a bilingual (English/French) international development professional with a strong commitment to furthering standards of excellence and a demonstrated track record of managing diverse teams, complex projects and portfolios, and high-profile consulting assignments. She brings over 23 years of non-profit experience across the full cycle of project/program cycle management, with specialization in Results-Based Management (RBM) and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL). An expert in capacity strengthening, she is passionate about Learning and Development (L&D) and has proven skills in teaching, training, facilitation and instructional design (e-learning) as well as institutional strengthening/organizational development (OD). She also has a solid background in resource mobilization, business strategy, operations management and risk mitigation.
Ms. Kane has conducted assignments in over 30 countries worldwide, has lived in sub-Saharan Africa for 15 years, and has spent nine years in team-lead positions, including: overseeing nine Country Offices with almost 1,000 staff and awards totaling $550m a Portfolio Director in a Regional Office; leading a 5-year, $37.4m USAID-funded award as Chief of Party in a Project Office; and managing a team of program management and M&E experts that supported a multi-sectoral portfolio of awards as Associate Director-Strategic Management & Capacity Building in a Country Office. She has also successfully delivered consultancies as a trainer, instructional designer, and facilitator of participatory workshops/processes.
Ms. Kane’s career consists of progressively responsible positions within INGOs working primarily on USG-funded projects as well as consultancies with multi-lateral institutions (FAO, OIE, UNIDO, WTO, AfDB), continental bodies (African Union, Commonwealth Secretariat), national ministries in several countries, and other global or regional organizations (NDC Partnership, Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, various NGOs). This work covers a wide range of sectors, including public health, One Health, agriculture/food security, livelihoods/economic strengthening, environment/climate change, education, gender, youth, civil society strengthening and more.
