Professional Experience: |
I am Community Development professional with over three years experience in Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. I also have over three years Education Experience developing national training packages on behalf of the Australian Government. Able to relocate immediately, and seeking a challenging international opportunity. Current and past roles have involved personal achievements in the following areas; ? Improvement in literacy standards of community members and children by developing and delivering literacy and education programs. I was also responsible for the set-up of an adult’s lending library within Nawae Constructions, which is open to the public. This is also a literacy centre where those living in villages are able to come and learn to read and write and complete school assignments at night, with electricity; ? Development and management of Community Development programs such as sanitation, health, HIV/AIDS, education and employment programs in remote Indonesian and Papua New Guinean communities; ? Development of women’s programs and a foundation to improve the health and quality of life of women in Milne Bay; ? Set up and management of the First Buk bilong Pikinini Children’s Literacy Program in Milne Bay; ? Engaging with communities and politicians in PNG and Indonesia; and ? Capacity development of local staff members. Prior to my roles in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, I was employed by Service Skills Australia where I was responsible for developing all Sport, Fitness and Recreation qualifications for the current and future workforce of the Australian Sport and Recreation Industry. I feel that I can contribute to CBM, as I possess the following skills: ? The ability to communicate with people at all levels, ranging from a ‘grass roots’ level to politicians; ? Excellent business and project management skills; ? Developing and managing projects in remote communities, designed to improve the lives of those in need; ? Working with health and fitness professionals to develop exercise programs for those facing access issues; ? Training and mentoring indigenous community members in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia to develop and manage projects to ensure that they are successful in managing community needs in the future; and ? Working with communities to develop Community Development programs to ensure that the quality of life of indigenous people is improved.
