Professional Experience:
For the last 12 years, Sarah has served in various positions of increasing responsibility at AMIDEAST, in both the headquarters office in Washington, DC, and in the Ramallah office. She has been the lead internal program evaluator for several multimillion-dollar USAID-funded projects, and has also served as the Acting Chief of Party for a $5 million USAID humanitarian education project. She has also provided short-term expertise to donor-funded, AMIDEAST-implemented projects in Qatar and Yemen. In addition to serving as an evaluator, Sarah has been a trainer/teacher at AMIDEAST for eight years, as well as a proposal and technical writer for diverse AMIDEAST initiatives. She has developed curriculum on Women's History Month and Black History Month, as well as short stories in American literature and college/career readiness, for the English Access Microscholarship Program. Sarah is a co-founder of the Palestinian Evaluation Association, and serves on its steering committee and as the coordinator of its Advocacy & Fundraising Committee. She was a Fulbright pre-doctoral fellow in Arabic language in Egypt in 2001-2002, and is a recipient of the Daniel Berman Award for Social Justice from American University's School of Public Affairs. Sarah received an MA in Arab Studies and a graduate certificate in Refugees & Humanitarian Emergencies from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and she also holds a CELTA from International House in Buenos Aires. She is professionally proficient in English and Arabic, and has a working knowledge of French.
