Professional Experience: |
As an economist with extensive field experience in project management including monitoring and evaluation, I believe I have gained substantial knowledge and understanding of humanitarian concepts, social research, as well as various approaches to sustainable development. Additionally, I have lived and worked in different multicultural societies adding an invaluable global dimension to my approach that would enable me to contribute effectively to most international positions.
My competencies vary in a wide range of arena. To begin with, I just completed a monitoring and reports assignment with UNICEF in North Eastern Mindanao, Philippines where I was the focal point for situation reports while providing extensive support for humanitarian performance monitoring. Before that, I was working with FAO – South Sudan Office as a Monitoring and Evaluation expert responsible for setting up the M&E system including indicators for the FAO programme, as well as developing periodic monitoring and progress reports. Shortly before going to South Sudan, I worked with IFAD as a short-term consultant assessing poverty impact and Gender participation, of which two final reports were developed. Prior to that, I was working with FAO in the Philippines as a Programme Officer, where I was responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of seven different agricultural and environmental projects. I actively participated in the monitoring missions of the projects I managed. I was further responsible for developing project concepts and proposals. Throughout my experience, I have been known to be a quick learner with the ability to multitask, build and maintain professional work relationships.
My previous experience with FAO-Tanzania, where I was responsible for the coordination and implementation of the National Agriculture Sector Development Programme (ASDP) gave me an opportunity to work closely and provided outreach to different actors in the sector, from Development Partners, NGOs, Civil Societies and Private Sector. I served as a focal point in the coordination as well as pro-active participation in Implementation Reviews of the programme. I was further responsible for producing discussion papers for policy dialogue within the agricultural working group of the higher level Development Partners Group. I demonstrated to be able to prioritize my work and meet deadlines under pressure as well as preparing and implementing projects according to design.
I am keen to continue developing my skills as a Monitoring and Evaluation or Economist responsible for policy works.
