Professional Experience: |
As an economist with extensive field experience in project management including monitoring and evaluation, I believe I have gained substantial knowledge and understanding of humanitarian concepts, social research, as well as various approaches to sustainable development. Additionally, I have lived and worked in different multicultural societies adding an invaluable global dimension to my approach that would enable me to contribute effectively to most international positions.
My competencies vary in a wide range of arena. As the chief of party/head of organization, I am responsible to manage and oversee the implementation of resilience-based projects in several regions in Tanzania. This experience sharpened my leadership skills and proved my ability to make concrete decions and provide strategic guidance and direction to the project. My experience working with FAO in different countries as a Performance Monitoring and Evaluation expert in South Sudan, and a Programme Officer in Tanzania and Philippines, have added an invaluable dimension to my work and how I perceive and relate to different cultures.
Working with UNICEF in the Philippines has exposed my knowledge of performance monitoring to extend to other sectors such as WASH, child protection and education where I continued to learn and my previous experience was further solidified. During this emergency time, I was solely responsible for all weekly sitreps as well as validating sectoral indicators and providing recommendations for the emergency response.
My experience working in humanitarian/emergency countries such as South Sudan and briefly in Liberia, has also equipped me with the required resilience that’s needed to work and thrive in such environments.
Every step of my career has been a continuous learning experience. And throughout this experience, I have been known to be a quick learner with the ability to multitask, build and maintain healthy professional work relationships.
With the experience listed above, I am confident that I am suitable for both humanitarian and development positions, since I have the required expertise in a manner that’s inclusive and responsive to the global context.
I believe the brief background I have provided herein, will be able to provide a glimple of my abilities as a development practitioner. Should there be a need for further details of my background and skills besides what’s on my CV, please feel free to contact me using my email at siamachangu@gmail.com
Yours sincerely,
