Professional Experience:
I have developed and closed 40 projects with the support from USAID, DFID, EU, AusAID, CIDA, UNDP, UNICEF, UNODC and UNDEF. I also developed and executed 10 electronic and print media awareness-raising and advocacy campaigns, including the development of television dramas and documentaries.

*Organizational Management and Bussiness Development: Hand-on experience in developing project proposals, evaluating the current performance of on-going projects and finding ways to help the development organization reach its full potential, alongwith organizational development and management.
*Programme and Financial Management Expert: Expertise in technical, organizational and managerial aspects of development projects, such as strategy action plan development, process redesign and change management, financial and contract management, budgeting and cash flow optimization, team building and leadership, training programmes and donor reporting. Present Position: Director, Women’s Empowerment Programme, The Asia Foundation Afghanistan
As the Director Women’s Empowerment Program (WEP) at The Asia Foundation, I oversee three projects worth USD $15 million. The three projects I am handling currently aim at gender-based violence prevention, bridging the gap between the formal and informal justice sectors, and supporting local and regional women organizations and networks to advance women’s leadership and voice. I am also primarily responsible to plan and oversee the entire WEP portfolio.
Description of Key Responsibilities:
i. Programme and Financial Management: Oversee the implementation of all projects in the Foundation’s Women’s Empowerment portfolio in Afghanistan and troubleshoot programme issues as required. Lead and manage all staff under WEP portfolio (approximately 30 employees). Establishing management targets and monitoring results. Process redesign and change management, financial and contract management, budgeting and cash flow optimization, team building and leadership, staff training programmes. Preparing progress reports for donors.
ii. Capacity Building: Conduct needs assessment for different areas of capacity building to ensure relevance and usefulness of training programmes to eliminate violence against women and increase knowledge of informal justice sector on women’s rights. Provide technical assistance to the organizations and functional groups in developing training curriculums and plans. Review the overall input of experts and finalize the training curriculums and organize training programmes.
iii. Communication: Develop occasional brief research opinion papers and present findings as required. Coordinate external and internal communications flow. Plan events, seminars and partners’ briefings.
iv. Public Relations: Interact with current and potential donors on a regular basis. Maintain a broad and active network of contacts on women’s empowerment among NGOs, international institutions, Afghan civil society and government.
v. Business Development: Develop new strategies, programmes and project proposals related to women’s empowerment.

Previous Position: As the Senior Key Expert Judicial and Legal Affairs Communication, Punjab Access to Justice, a European Union Project from Sep 2013-2017, I was responsible for the third Component of the project, Increase and regularize public legal and judicial information to increase citizens’ access to legal services and the accountability of the justice sector.

Description of Key Responsibilities:
i. Supervised periodical household surveys of public awareness and attitudes towards the justice system. Supervised communication team administered financial and budgetary aspects of the third component i.e. Ensured efficient use of project funds and the accuracy of financial reports and write donor and event reports.
ii. Supported the Lahore High Court, Punjab Public Prosecution Department, and the Punjab Bar Council, in developing communication strategies. Designed and implemented the project’s communication strategy and plans to create awareness. Developed and implemented a visibility plan to promote project objectives. Developed and implemented public media campaigns on radio and television channels to increase citizens’ awareness of their legal rights, availabel legal avenues, and how to access these avenues and other available options. Continually updated social media and internet links to showcase project activities and news. Designed project website, brochures, communication, promotional and infographic materials.
iii.Conducted provincial and district level dialogues among key justice sector stakeholders on Caseflow Management and legal aid services for citizens as required by law. Supervised community outreach awareness-raising events such as community sessions, street theatres, documentary shows, etc.
iv.Conducted media advocacy and press conferences.
