Professional Experience:
I am a Danish national. I have 13 years of experience from China and have been working for 21 years with management of development programmes and businesses in China, Thailand, USA and Denmark. Following my studies that included one year of Chinese language studies in Shanghai and one year of social anthropological field research in China’s Guangxi Province I have been stationed four times overseas: 1) three years with UNDP in New York and Bangkok, 2) four years at an EU funded “nature conservation through community participation” project in Thailand, 3) nine years for the American charity Trace Foundation in Southwest China and 4) since April 2016 General Manager for Shanghai Yiheyuan Elderly Service Center. I have experience from working with civil society, business and government partners.

Mag. art. Degree (Master of Arts Studies) in Social Anthropology. Thesis based on fieldwork in China.

Jul. 1992 – Jul. 1993: GUANGXI ACADEMY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES, GUANGXI AUTONOMOUS REGION, CHINA
One-year of ethnographic fieldwork among the Dong people in Guangxi Autonomous Region, China.
• Fieldwork implemented in cooperation with Guangxi Academy of Social Sciences as well as local authorities and populations. Fieldwork conducted in Chinese.
• Using various qualitative and quantitative ethnographic data collection methodologies studied the social impact of shifting state policies on the ethnic and cultural identity of a local Dong community in the northern part of Guangxi Province.
• Wrote several articles about the fieldwork, participated in research conferences on China and communicated the experience.
• Was successful with fundraising and secured funds from Nordic Institute of Asian Studies (NIAS), Henry Shaw’s Foundation, The Faculty of Humanities, Aarhus University, The Department of Ethnography and Social Anthropology, Aarhus University and received HRH Crown Prince Frederik's Award.
