Professional Experience:
Consultant - Evaluation of the Canadian Red Cross Health, Hygiene and Sanitation Program in Haiti, Ference and Weicker Company. Quantitative and Qualitative Evaluation of the Red Cross' latrine program in Haiti. The final report includes recommendations for the improvement of the Red Cross' future sanitation and behavior change projects.
Evaluation Consultant – Haiti, The International Planned Parenthood Federation, Western Hemisphere Region (IPPFWHR). I am currently evaluating the IPPFWHR’s capacity building intervention with its Member Association in Haiti (PROFAMIL). The final report includes an overview of the strategies used by IPPFWHR and PROFAMIL, a summary of findings and lessons learned. The report will be shared with other organizations working in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
Project Coordinator, Somali Refugee Nutritional Emergency - Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders, Liben, Ethiopia. Responsible for coordination of an emergency medical intervention that provided in-patient and out-patient nutritional care to Somali refugees in Ethiopian refugee camps. Management of a 360 member team, including 35 Ethiopian and Somali nationals and 7 international staff.
Definition of intervention strategy, overseeing implementation, budgeting, human resources management, security management, advocacy, and context analysis. Required writing progress reports for all stakeholders, including donors and beneficiaries that communicated complex medical issues in simple terms.
Evaluation Officer – Haiti, The International Planned Parenthood Federation, Western Hemisphere Region (IPPFWHR). I worked with IPPFWHR in New York and its Member Association in Haiti (PROFAMIL) to design and implement monitoring and evaluation strategies for PROFAMIL’s post-disaster sexual and reproductive health program. Included regular travel to Haiti to provide technical support to PROFAMIL staff in ensuring that monitoring and evaluation informed program design and proposal development. Required writing progress reports for all stakeholders. Drafting project proposals to donors.
Project Coordinator, LRA violence intervention, Yambio South Sudan, Médecins Sans Frontières. Responsible for coordination of an intervention that sought to provide medical care to people affected by rebel violence in Western Equatoria State, South Sudan. Tasks included: definition of intervention strategy, overseeing implementation, monitoring and evaluation, budgeting, human resources management, security management, representation of MSF with stakeholders, the NGO community and government officials, negotiating access, patient- advocacy, and context analysis, advocacy with government and other actors.
